Marie Cameron is a realist painter and mixed media assemblage artist exploring themes of hope and awe in the face of loss in the Anthropocene. Born in New York City, Marie Cameron grew up in Maine and the Canadian Maritimes and earned a BFA with distinction from Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick, majoring in painting and minoring in sculpture. Since moving to California in 1997, Marie Cameron has enjoyed exhibiting her work in galleries and museums both locally and internationally. In addition to her art making practice, she is active in the Bay Area art community, serving on boards, writing about artists, mentoring and curating.
