Frantz Koestler (Karlsbad, Bohemia, 1877 - ) Koestler, Frantz. b. 1877. Fort Worth. Painter, teacher.Koestler was born in Karlsbad, Bohemia, and studied in a Viennese academy where he subsequently taught. During World War I, he worked as a cartographer at the Military Geographic Institute, Vienna. He came to the United States in 1935 to visit a son, then settled in 1936 in New Orleans where he remained a number of years before moving to Fort Worth.Koestler specialized in portraiture and was apparently active in Fort Worth through the late 1940s.
