For Toni, art isn’t a pastime — it’s oxygen. From her early days sketching, sewing, and printmaking, to her deep dive into painting, Toni has lived a lifelong dialogue with creativity. Her studio is a laboratory of emotion, where intellect meets intuition and each brushstroke wrestles with the mysteries of color, light, and translucence. Working primarily in oils and charcoal, she builds her pieces through layer upon layer of depth — balancing warm and cool tones, opaque and translucent textures, control and release. Her ocean series captures not just water, but its energy: the pulse beneath the surface, the calm before the crash, and the electric moment when wave becomes sky. For Toni, painting is a paradox — equal parts exhilaration and exhaustion. It’s where puzzles of light and movement unfold, and where emotion finds form. Her process is both scientific and spiritual: watching big-wave footage to feel the ocean’s rhythm, pushing her compositions just beyond her comfort zone, chasing the perfect tension between stillness and motion. Now based in Costa Rica, Toni finds her muse in the country’s rhythm — its peace, its wildness, and its eternal dialogue with the sea. Her work is a reflection of that world: alive, layered, and endlessly deep. At Sol Gallery, Toni’s art invites you in — to stand at the edge of the wave, feel its energy, and let it move you.
