Born in Malta, Karen Caruana has been studying painting since 2001. She works primarily with paint and photography; she is mostintrigued by colour, form, facial expressions and captured movement. The work is an ongoing search for personal growth, a process fuelled by an avid interest in folk customs, popular culture, visionary art and masters such as Odd Nerdrum, Francis Bacon and Rembrandt.
