Katie Davis (b.1979 in Marion, Ohio) is a visual artist who lives and works in Columbus, Ohio. Her color choice and visual language are in direct relationship with her materials, which are sourced directly from every day life, such as box lids, curtains, textiles, and furniture. Katie's work is playful, warm, and holds a tension between abstraction and representation. She is primarily a painter, but she views interdisciplinary collaborations with other artists as a way to stretch her practice and learn more about materials. So far, she has collaborated with a poet, sound artists, and other painters.
