Richard Leon was born in the Bronx (1954) and traveled to Ecuador as a young boy and later to Paris, Rome and London. He received a BS in Psychology from Fordham University (1974) and an MFA from the New Jersey City University (2003). In 1987 he initiated a program of independent study under Peter Homitzky at the Arts Students League which progressed for 15 years. In 2020 he initiated a new work and living space with his wife Gail, also an artist, in the town of Saugerties, NY.
