Born in Tokyo in 1961, Piet Mura is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting and public art. He studied at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam from 1980 to 1983, an experience that shaped his formal sensibility and deepened his engagement with abstraction. Brock with a catalogue published by Prism Press; the Beacon Arts Member Exhibition (2024); Petit: Smaller Sized Art at Emerge Gallery (2021); Abstrakt and Bianco: Art Celebrating White at Emerge Gallery (2020); Primar(il)y Red (2019); Geometry, juried by Phyllis Tuchman at Site: Brooklyn Gallery (2019); and Five Points Center for the Visual Arts (2017). In 2024, Mura completed a public art installation for the Beacon Bus Shelter Art Project in Beacon, NY. He lives and works in New York.
