Cee Cee Belford is a painter dividing her time between New York and Maine. She spent her early childhood in Rome, Italy, while her parents worked in the textile and fine art fields. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Art History and in 2023, she received her MFA from the New York Studio School. She has exhibited her paintings in NYC at the National Academy, the Arts Students League, the National Arts Club and the New York Studio School. Cee Cee has been a revisiting artist at the Cuttyhunk Island Residency in MA. Her works are informed both by East Coast landscapes and her life in New York City. Connection and isolation are major themes of her narrative. Each of her paintings is a response to what she sees and feels behind the figure and its environment. She experiments with color and shapes, bodies, and their moods, while developing a visual, psychological language to tell stories in a way that are both personal and communal.
