As a ranch woman, wife and mother, I have lived a life close to nature. I am especially drawn to birds; they are the heart of my work. I often say, ‘They fly onto my paintings and into my heart.” One of my most rewarding projects was an 18-month collaboration ending in 2021 with the University of Wyoming Biodiversity Institute for the Art of Hybridization, where I created 18 original oil paintings exploring bird species and their hybrids. The resulting triptych, Hybrid Fusion, is on display and part of the UW BI’s permanent collection. I love challenging myself through exhibitions and competitions.
