Annie Varnot holds a BS in Studio Art from Skidmore College and an MFA in Painting from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her solo exhibition, Nomadic Landscapes, was presented at Angelo State University in Texas, where she was awarded the Edwards Trust Visiting Artist Residency. Her work has been exhibited at venues including Galapagos Art Space, Smack Mellon, Wave Hill Garden and Cultural Center, Red Fox Contemporary, and the Islip Art Museum, New York. She has been a Visiting Artist Scholar at Illinois State University and is the recipient of multiple grants, including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. Varnot has participated in numerous artist residencies, including Caldera Arts Center, Pine Meadow Ranch, Playa, Oak Spring Garden Foundation, MASS MoCA, Montello Foundation, Jentel, Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, La Napoule Art Foundation, Ross Creek Centre for the Arts, Islip Art Museum, and Weir Farm.
