Lisa Hoke is a New York– and Hudson Valley–based artist whose practice transforms everyday detritus into immersive, color-rich installations and sculptural forms. Working with discarded materials—plastic cups, paper, packaging, and other ephemera—she constructs dynamic, site-specific environments that oscillate between abstraction and the familiar. Hoke’s work, often dismantled and reconfigured after exhibition, emphasizes impermanence, transformation, and the poetry of the everyday. Her installations and sculptures are included in significant collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, and the Johnson Museum of Art, and she has been recognized with awards from the Joan Mitchell Foundation, the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the National Academy of Design.
