Giorgio Silvestrini was born in Palermo, Italy, in 1985. He studied at the Brera School of Fine Arts in Milan before moving to Paris to pursue further education. In 2009–2010, he attended ENSA Cergy/Paris, followed by the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he received his Diplôme National Supérieur d'Arts Plastiques (DNSAP) in 2013 with highest honors, unanimously awarded by the jury. In 2014, during the Exposition des Félicités at the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Silvestrini was awarded the Alberic Rocheron First Prize for Painting. He later joined the Casa de Velázquez – French Academy in Madrid for the 2016–2017 residency program. That same year, he was shortlisted for the Cairo Prize, presented at the Royal Palace in Milan. Silvestrini has participated in numerous exhibitions in France and internationally, including La belle peinture est derrière nous (Mauritius and Bratislava, 2013); Imago Mundi at Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa, Palermo; Viva Villa at the Cité internationale des Arts, Paris; Itinérances at Musée Dobrée, Nantes; and Recto-Verso, organized by Le Secours Populaire at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
