Pablo Boneu (b. 1969, Córdoba, Argentina) is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist whose work moves between photography, sculpture, and handmade textile interventions. His practice is driven by conceptual inquiry and an experimental relationship with material, combining layered photographic imagery with woven threads and tactile structures that extend beyond the picture plane. Through this interplay between image, object, and space, Boneu creates works that invite slow observation and sensory engagement, revealing subtle tensions between presence, absence, repetition, and transformation.Self taught and deeply process oriented, Boneu has developed a distinctive visual language through sustained studio experimentation and an expansive international exhibition practice. His works often balance serial composition with handcrafted intimacy, producing pieces that feel both architecturally precise and emotionally charged. Threads, textures, shadows, and layered surfaces become active elements within the work, allowing material itself to function as a carrier of memory, rhythm, and perception. Boneu has exhibited extensively across Argentina, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, and the United States, including exhibitions at Centro Cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires, Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City, and galleries in Berlin and São Paulo. His solo exhibition Threads Unveiled was presented at Artemisa Gallery in 2018.In dialogue with Artemisa’s curatorial vision, Boneu’s practice reflects a commitment to contemporary Latin American art that transcends medium while remaining grounded in material exploration and emotional resonance. His works challenge conventional distinctions between photography, textile, and sculpture, creating immersive compositions that exist between discipline and intuition. Through repetition, fragmentation, and handcrafted intervention, Boneu transforms ordinary materials into contemplative visual experiences that speak to broader conversations surrounding identity, memory, and perception within contemporary art. His practice embodies the kind of cross cultural and materially driven dialogue that defines Artemisa’s approach to presenting artists whose work is both formally rigorous and deeply human.
