b. 1969 Spain, based in Switzerland since 2011. Self-taught artist Almudena Pintado has always explored the possibilities of material and abstraction through collage and layered textures. Her early experiences in fashion design and architectural drawing left a geometric imprint on her work, yet her practice remains deeply intuitive and emotional, aiming to capture energy and movement in every creation. Throughout her career, Almudena has exhibited worldwide: Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Italy, Mexico, Argentina, the United States, Iran, Singapore, Taiwan, and Brazil. She has shown her work in prestigious venues such as the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and the Museum of the Americas in Florida, and has been invited as Guest of Honour at the Embassy of Mexico in California and the Ministry of Culture in Tijuana. Her distinctions include the Honourable Mention from the National Academy of Fine Arts of Brazil, the Special Prize from the National Society of Fine Arts in Paris, and the Bronze Medal from the Academic Society of Arts, Sciences and Letters in Paris. Almudena’s work is held in private collections around the world, from Japan to Switzerland, and from France and Italy to the United States and Spain. Each piece reflects a tension between structure and freedom, between silence and noise, and engages with the space and emotions of those who experience it. Her art is not only visual—it is an experience, a way of feeling and understanding the world through material, light, and texture.Almudena Pintado has always explored the possibilities of material and abstraction through collage and layered textures.
