Irvine-based artist David Reid has been developing his art practice since 2002. He is known for both portrait and still life artworks, using his expressive, colour-sensitive approach to every subject he undertakes. As well as exhibiting his work in joint and solo exhibitions, David has also gained recognition for a number of community-based projects and commissioned artworks. David’s classic, simply arranged floral still life artworks serve as a celebration of traditional art forms, as well as exploring more contemporary styles. With the use of strong lighting and bold colour in these arrangements, the artworks have both a calm minimalistic appearance and underlying richness in texture and hue.
