His collection of portraits of figures from Black Mountain College was shown at Blue Spiral 1 in 2018. “What Became of Dr. Smith,” Saterstrom’s most ambitious show to date, was exhibited at the Mississippi Museum of Art in 2023 and accompanied by a full-length folio. Saterstrom’s work also appears on numerous book covers including Ann Patchett’s The Dutch House (2019) and Whistler (2026). “On a Winter’s Night,” his collaboration with writer Kate DiCamillo, is due from Candlewick Press in 2027.
