Hannah Bender (b. 1999 Denver, CO) is a painter, printmaker, artseducator, and administrator based in Houston, Texas. She teachesSilkscreen at the University of Houston, manages the print shop at RedBird Press along with the Lanecia A. Rouse Gallery, and serves on theboard of PrintHouston. Hannah holds a Master of Fine Arts in Paintingfrom the University of Houston, where she taught Painting Fundamentalsand Silkscreen as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. She holds a Bachelorof Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Central Arkansaswhere she served as the President of the Feminist Union and wasawarded the President’s Medallion in the College of the Arts,Humanities, and Social Sciences. She has been an artist-in-residenceat Kala Art Institute, and has participated in studio assistantshipsat Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and in Oakland, CA withindependent portrait painter, Taylor Smalls. Hannah has exhibited withBlaffer Art Museum, Texas Photographic Society, Elgin Street Studios,Lawndale Art Center, Baum Gallery, and local third-spaces.
