Leo Brooks (1909 – 1993) began his artistic career in earnest upon his retirement in his sixties. Like many New York City artists, once Brooks discovered Monhegan Island he became enraptured by its wild nature and beauty. His compositions are playful and kinetic, characterized by their vivid colors and strong shapes.
