Cyn started her glass career at Tesuque Glass Works in 2012. She quickly became obsessed with the process and attended college at California College of the arts and Alfred University with a focus on glass. Wanting to learn more she attended Pilchuck Glass School.Cyn uses a variety of different techniques to apply imagery onto her blown glass pieces. on some painting and then firing enamel paint onto the vessels. For her more detailed pieces Cyn creates multiple layers of colored glass. Typically using a white opaque glass for the outer layer and a brighter transparent glass for the inner layer. She will then map out a collection of drawings and writing onto the glass. With dremel and a fine point diamond bit Cyn carves the drawings into the white outer layer, revealing the colored glass underneath. Once the carving is complete Cyn brings the vessel into the hot shop to refire it and bring it back to a glossy polish.
