Silvia Belviso was born in Bari, Southern Italy, where her artistic foundation was shaped by the rich cultural heritage of the region. She received her formal training at the prestigious “De Nittis” Art School before entering the master studio Ippogrifo under the guidance of Maestro Peppino Signorile. Over the course of ten years, she immersed herself in a rigorous and multi-disciplinary atelier practice, developing a refined sensitivity to technique, material, and visual language.Her artistic formation continued in Florence and Rome, where she deepened her exploration of classical and contemporary painting techniques. Throughout her career, she has exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions, in Italy and internationally, while also contributing to the artistic community as an educator and curator of exhibitions for artists at various stages of their careers.Since 2014, Silvia has further developed her practice through advanced studies in photorealism in the United States. Working across watercolor, oil, and acrylic, her work moves fluidly between precision and atmosphere, balancing technical mastery with expressive depth.Now based in South Carolina, she serves as director of the Blair Center for the Arts, where her commitment to artistic excellence continues to shape a vibrant and evolving creative community.
