Scott Donadio is an American contemporary sculptor based in the Santa Barbara area. Donadio's works range from abstraction to geometric shapes utilizing a range of materials, including steel, stone, bronze and cement; although his early work and self-education was almost entirely devoted to stone carving. Working in an artist's community with other seasoned sculptors, he was able to hone his craft and gain valuable skill and insight into the art-making process. While primarily self-taught, Donadio is essentially a formalist inspired by modernist and pros-modernist traditions whose work reflects a not to the MCM exploration of form, style and material manifesting in a decades long career. He also applies his abstract figure studies to large-scale steel construction, as seen in the ALIX gallery sculpture garden. Donadio has been showing in the western United States region for the last 30 years. Donadio's work has been installed as part of the Public Arts installation at the Cathedral City, California Civic Center in 2017. Prior to the ALIX gallery, he had been represented in the desert at the Colin Fisher Gallery for numerous years.
