Born in Neckarsulm, Germany, Hans Schüle is a distinguished sculptor and artist whose practice explores the dynamic interplay between geometric precision and organic fluidity. With a strong foundation in graphic design, Schüle further advanced his practice as a master's student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and the Berlin University of the Arts under Professor Jürgen Reipka between 1991 to 1997. His scholarly academic foundation shaped his sophisticated sculptural language and contributed to his recognition, culminating in the prestigious Studi Grant from the State of Baden-Württemberg in 2021. Working primarily with steel, Schüle transforms industrial steel into dynamic, biomorphic forms. His abstract sculptures exist on a delicate threshold, between materiality and immateriality, structure and gesture, where rigid steel becomes fluid, permeable, and responsive to space. Through this synthesis, he creates pieces that are precise and organically expressive. Schüle's work has been exhibited internationally and recognised with notable distinctions, including the International Studio Award from the Erich Hauser Art Foundation in 2000. This accumulated in making him into a sculptor who shapes not only material but also the very language of form, where steel breathes, bends, and evokes a sense of living presence.
