Tanmay Parashar is a self-taught artist, based in London, Ontario, whose practice is rooted in the expressive power of colour. While he holds an MBA from Banarus Hindu University (BHU), India, his passion for art has always been his driving force. His work explores the emotional resonance that emerges from the dynamic interaction of different hues, creating compositions that function as visual symphonies, enabling the viewer to physically see music. Rather than adhering to conventional techniques, Parashar defines his aesthetic through colour as a deeply personal language of self-expression. Each piece becomes a reflection of his inner world, translating emotion and identity into rhythmic fields of colour. Central to his practice is a distinctive and meticulous process, in which Parashar employs the edge of a credit card as his primary tool, constructing each piece through tens of thousands of carefully placed dabs of colour, reaching up to 60,000. This labour-intensive method, often requiring weeks to complete, results in richly textured surfaces that pulse with rhythm and depth. Through this intricate interplay, Parashar invites viewers into an immersive experience that evokes feelings, inspires reflection, and reveals the profound capacity of colour to communicate beyond words. "My goal is to create works that ignite the same passion for colour in others that I have always felt deeply within myself." — Tanmay Parashar
