Tucker Bobst was a self-taught, internationally acclaimed artist with representation in Paris, London, Munich, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. From September, 2006 to January, 2008 Tucker owned a small gallery in his hometown of Chestertown, MD featuring much of his work and was run by Tucker and his life partner of 60 years, Richard Maloy. Born (1923) in Boston, MA, Tucker was a graduate of Groton's Lawrence Academy. Following his U.S. Coast Guard tenure, he settled in New York City where his talent received immediate recognition. Besides his numerous museum and gallery awards in the states he has won the ESPACE LYOMNAISS d'ARTE (France), INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL (England), & ARTES POPULARE (Mexico). His prominent "People In Paintings" series of internationally renowned political, theatrical and literary personages include: John F. Kennedy, Vivian Leigh, Nureyev, Tennessee Williams, Albee, Hitchcock, Siobhan McKenna, Sir John Gielgud, et al. THE WHITE HOUSE acquisitions from this series include Barbara Bush (the new BUSH LIBRARY, Texas) and President William Clinton.
