Zhang Lanjun (born October 1963 in Jiangsu, China) is a renowned Chinese printmaker and senior artist. He graduated from the Suzhou Arts and Crafts Institute and later completed advanced studies in printmaking at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, where he studied under distinguished artists such as Song Yuanwen, Guang Jun, and Wu Changjiang.He is a member of the China Artists Association, the Shanghai Artists Association, the China Printmakers Association, and an academician of the American Asian Art Institute.Zhang has been deeply engaged in printmaking for decades and became active in the contemporary Chinese printmaking scene in the early 1990s. His artistic practice emphasizes both the refinement of traditional printmaking techniques and the exploration of contemporary visual expression. His work reflects a balance between meticulous detail and expansive vision, embodying his artistic philosophy of “reaching the vast through the subtle.”His works have been selected for numerous national and international exhibitions, including the 11th and 13th National Print Exhibition in China and the 18th International Print Biennale in Kanagawa, Japan. In recent years, Zhang has also explored the integration of technology and art, participating in contemporary initiatives such as “Cognitive Mapping,” expanding the boundaries of printmaking in the digital era.
