I was born in Copperhill, Tennessee, but I grew up in Marietta, Georgia. My parents were teachers, and I had them both as teachers in my middle and high school years. I attended University of Georgia and studied Journalism, but I found a passion for law and went to UGA Law School. I spent my career in courtrooms, as a lawyer and then a trial judge. I retired in 2022, but I am failing miserably at retirement, choosing instead to teach, mediate and practice law on my own terms now. Ironically, I ended up back at the UGA Law School, teaching Trial Practice and Georgia Practice and Procedures. My wife and son and my new daughter-in-law are my world, and I spend as much time with them as I can. I hope to have more time for photography, painting, writing, and other hobbies in the near future.
