“I am always interested in human emotions, human activities, and human interactions. I also like my paintings to be “talkative” like a companion you are sitting across from. During the process of my painting, I discover subtle nuances of human expressions, the emotions involved, and emerging stories. I want the stories to continue, to be told by the painting to the viewers. Recently, the stories have become centered around my immediate family. I became a grandmother in December of 2023. I retired from teaching art in 2024 to spend more time with my daughter’s growing family. I enjoy the challenge of capturing the interactions between the baby and her parents and her curiosity about the world around.”
