Leigh Ann Van Fossan – Artist Biography Born in Vail, Colorado in 1984, Leigh Ann Van Fossan began oil painting at age 12 and studied Fine Art at the University of Colorado in Boulder and the Syracuse University Center in Florence, Italy. After nearly a decade away from painting to explore the business side of art and build her family, Van Fossan returned to her craft in 2014. Her impressionistic landscape paintings in oil capture the beauty and serenity of natural environments, though she also works in acrylics, watercolor, and occasionally creates abstract pieces. In 2014, she was featured as a cover artist for Art Voices Magazine, followed by a presentation at SPECTRUM MIAMI in 2016 with Switzerland's Artbox Gallery. Van Fossan has expanded her artistic practice to include children's book illustration, notably for "Gloria Bee's Big Picture Day" and her own authored work "STUBBORN SAWYER" (2024). She is represented by select galleries across the United States including Abend Gallery, and her work is collected globally.
