Born in Mumbai, Prajakta Joshi moved to Dubai at the age of three, growing up in a vibrant melting pot of cultures that would forever shape how she sees the world. Her creative roots took hold during her BFA in India, where her passion for design and visual communication first emerged. After years of refining her skills at a British design house in Dubai, life led her to New Jersey and New York City, where she ultimately realized a lifelong dream of opening her own design agency. While her career has long centered on the art of communication, the quiet shift of the pandemic allowed her to reconnect with her first love: painting. Returning to the brush was not simply revisiting a hobby, but a homecoming; an exploration of nature in all its forms. She is drawn to the deeper patterns within nature, a pulse that connects everything. When she moves, she feels that same energy within herself, and her work becomes a reflection of that rhythm. For her, being an artist is a way of exploring the emotional geography of a place, a search for “home” that is not tied to a specific location. Having lived and traveled across the world, she has come to understand home as an internal state rather than a fixed destination. It is an inner compass that allows her to find comfort in diverse and unexpected environments, and to experience the uninterrupted joy of creation. As a practitioner of yoga and Ayurveda, she remains deeply attuned to the interplay of the elements and the ways in which they shape landscapes within both mind and body. Her work seeks to capture this movement and its influence on emotional and physical states. Through her practice, she honors the natural forces that guide moments of stillness, transformation, and connection.
