Kevin Harrison has been an artist who began painting professionally in 1997 when he moved to Charleston. His first big show took place at The Wells Gallery on Broad Street which lead to him getting his paintings accepted into Gallery 5 in Soho, NYC. Since then he has expanded his canvas to include photography, graphic design and video production. In 2012 he made the leap to feature film projects as an film editor when his family moved to Barcelona, Spain and eventually to Dublin, Ireland. He says that living in Europe for 5 years gave them the chance to learn to live with a little less; and to realize what is really important. He has sold his paintings all over the world with collectors in Australia, England, Ireland, Malaysia, Spain, Sweden, Quatar and the United States. He has been represented by the Untitled Gallery in Barcelona, Spain and currently at Duckworth Gallery in Charleston, SC. He worked in-house at PDA and Blackbaud, and has collaborated with industry leaders like Unilever, Airbnb, GMR, 262FIVE, and a wide range of startups that are working to change the world. He’s worked one-on-one as a producer, film editor, art director and creative director. His production career was launched when I hosted a fake riot at the opening of a downtown gallery exhibition in Charleston, SC featuring his artwork. This led to a large Chicago-based marketing firm called GMR seeing the video I made and hired me as their creative director for the North American product launch of their new men's body spray called AXE.
