KRISTINE BIEGEL is a Maine artist inspired by the rich colors, textures, and landscapes of New England. Her whimsical works capture the beauty of everyday life, celebrating the quiet nuances of living in a place filled with wonder and magic. Holding a BFA in Printmaking and a Master's degree in Community Art, Biegel has developed a distinctive painting style shaped by her deep appreciation for the rustic qualities of printmaking. Working primarily with acrylic paints on black canvases, she builds layered fields of rich color and texture. This process creates a striking contrast that echoes the bold marks and graphic qualities traditionally found in printmaking. Strong lines, vivid colors, and layered surfaces define her work, reflecting both her artistic training and her connection to the New England landscape. Her works can be found in homes and businesses throughout the world. Biegel is also a passionate advocate for inclusion and accessibility in the arts. She believes that art should be welcoming and accessible to everyone, and has dedicated much of her career to sharing the joy of art making with diverse communities and learners of all ages. As a seasoned instructor and teaching artist, she has taught at the Farnsworth Art Museum, Colby College, and VSA Arts, and attended the Lincoln Center Summer Arts Inntegration Institute.
