Art is a reflective and meditative activity that I do to work through my thoughts and form my perspective on all that surrounds me. We were all created for greatness and relationship, and we have lost both. Paradise is lost. As a result mankind travels life with FEAR, GUILT, and SHAME. You will find a symbol of each one of these in my work because I have found each one in the depths of my soul. WE have fallen- but there is HOPE for the one who experiences these tireless and relentless taskmasters. In my recent work, I consider the birds and I am reminded of the love that our Creator has for the least of His creatures. They do not plant fields or build barns and yet their needs are met everyday. The birds show us a picture to living a content life. By stopping here long enough to listen and observe I have found a key to help with the troubles of this life. The birds unlock a journey of freedom and a place to find rest.English has always been my second language-visual art being my first. I attended Savannah College of Art and Design and ended up at Georgia State with a minor in ceramics and a BA in Art Ed so that I could help others express their own thoughts through line, shape, form and color. Creating art allows time to stop and meditate. It creates a space where you can make decisions and focus your mind. I have learned to listen and gain perspective in my home studio where I seek refuge from my life that I share with a husband, 6 kids, 3 dogs, chickens, and various other assorted creatures where there is never a lack of inspiration.
