In her studio practice, May has sought to follow the thread of curiosity wherever it leads—often exploring the interconnectedness of our natural world with the human experience. In recent years, her creative attention has been drawn to the enchanting dance of starling murmurations. Originally inspired by seeing these abstractions in a dream, May seeks to evoke a sense of wonder and belonging for the viewer through her murmuration landscapes. Born and raised in New Orleans, May now resides in Georgia with her three children and four-legged studio companion, Maggie. She received a BA from The University of New Orleans. She is represented by Claire Elizabeth Gallery in New Orleans and has shown her work throughout Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
