Giselle Lucía Navarro is a visual artist and writer who studied industrial design at the University of Havana. Her practice straddles both the literary and art worlds, incorporating inspiration from a deep knowledge of important texts into innovative textile sculptures. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world including the 14th Havana Biennial where she received the first of two “Post-It” prizes from the Royal Norwegian Embassy. A recipient of the Juan Francisco Elso and Reino del Mundo Scholarships as well as the Habana Espacios Creativos and Can Serrat residencies, the Fundación Bernard Grau in Paris recently announced their selection of Lucía Navarro as its 2026 laureate in sculpture.
