Abigail Tran is an artist based in Wisconsin. Largely influenced by their experiences navigatingpersonal and cultural histories as it relates to their Vietnamese American identity, Tran often handlesthemes of heritage, preservation, and transformation.In 2026, they graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a dual focus in Jewelry &Metalsmithing and Painting & Drawing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Here, theydeveloped their painting skills and expanded their practice into metal objects. For many years ofundergrad, Tran worked as a studio research assistant for Professor Yevgeniya Kaganovich and as anofficer for the Jewelry & Metalsmithing student organization, OBJECT. They received multiple awards,including a second place Harold A. Milbrath Memorial Prize at the Makers!25 exhibition and first placeRuback Prize for Distinguished Writing in Honors.In the coming years, they plan to continue their creative pursuits, while becoming more involvedwith the arts community. Recently, they became a member of local artist and metalsmithing group,J&MA, and will be working as an metalsmithing instructor at Camp Med-O-Lark in Maine for the summer
