David E. Rowell Studied art, design and photography at the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI where he acquired a deeper knowledge and appreciation of photography and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.He pursued a lifelong career in fine art photography. His work explores and examines the solitude, serenity and vastness of the natural environment.David's award-winning work has been featured in exhibitions, galleries and museums throughout the US and is in countless private and corporate collections including Bascom Palmer Institute/ University of Miami, The Disney Corporation and INVEST/Jackson National Life Insurance Co. and many others. Artist StatementPhotography, for me, is an interpretation of an experience - not a record of it. The camera lens provides a window of selective vision that captures light and time as seen through the subjective perception of the photographer.My photographic work is concentrated on my experiences in the natural world with images centered on subtle compositions and nuanced tones along with the discovery and construction of light, color and texture. Shooting often becomes a meditative experience and I seek to convey the calmness and peace I fell during those moments.
