Noah Louis Trapolino (b. 1998) was born and raised in Houston, Texas alongside his eight siblings. He began his art journey while attending the University of Texas at Austin for Finance and Philosophy. He moved from Austin to Brooklyn, NY in 2023 and has continued to produce work for galleries and private collections since then. Noah is an artist whose paintings use eroticism to explore the structures of both human experience and social reproduction. Painting is internal to this exploration, as a form always already burdened by its own history. Invented to render flesh through a "lineage of lead", for generations paint allowed myth and power an aesthetic immediacy. The desire that organizes the appeal to paint - a desire for a representational claim to political and social myth making - is complex, circulating through environments, infrastructures, and histories of use. This marks a vision of eroticism that is political, social, ecological, as much as it is psychological - intimate as it is impersonal. His work begins from the instability of this eroticism.
