Jeremy Mann (b. 1979) is an American artist living and working in San Francisco, California. He graduated Cum Laude from Ohio University in 2002 where he received his BFA and in 2008 he received his MFA from the Academy of Art University in California. He is exhibited and represented both nationally and internationally. His paintings have been featured in a wide variety of publications including American Art Collector, and a documentary has been made about the artist and his work, entitled “A Solitary Mann” by Loic Zimmerman.Dominated by the female form, the figurative works of Jeremy Mann span generations all while remaining distinct in style. The muted palette of each piece paired with traditional elements reminiscent of the old masters separates Mann’s work from many other artists working today. The models both blend in and stand out from their respective backgrounds, drawing the viewer in. There is a sense that each of these scenes look in on private contemplation or a moment of reprieve.In his cityscapes, Mann balances realism with abstraction in such a way as to create an illusion of reflectivity, setting the viewer into the scene as if from behind a window.
