PURE EVIL is the moniker of Charles Uzzell-Edwards. The London-based UK street artist has produced paintings and original screen prints in his well-known series, Hollywood Nightmares, shown in galleries all over the world. PURE EVIL investigates the depths and disasters of Utopian dreams and takes stimulation from Warhol’s celebrity and self-portraits. After living in California for 10 years and finding inspiration through skate culture and politically-infused graffiti, his passion for street art developed when he revisited London. He began by painting his infamously fanged bunny rabbits en masse and catalyzed his unique approach to urban art and spray painting. He has since opened two of his own commercial galleries in the UK and continues to show across the US and throughout the world. PURE EVIL continues to develop his own global brand, while adamantly maintaining artistic integrity. He produces stunning canvases clearly taking his place in the world of the postmodernism and neo-Pop. His work can be found in private and museum collections, including the first street art museum in France, MAUSA Vauban (Musée d'Art Urbain et de Street Art).
