Emmanuel Dostaly, commonly known as Mano, is a self-trained artist born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 25, 1947. He studied art at the Académie des Beaux-Arts and is renowned for his vibrant landscapes and depictions of daily life, which are inspired by the people and sights of Haiti. By early 1974, his work was represented by several prestigious galleries, including the George Nader Art Gallery in Port-au-Prince. In 1986, he moved to New York and has since exhibited his art in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, the USA, Guadeloupe, France, and Belgium. Additionally, he co-authored the book *Haitian Artists in America* alongside three other Haitian artists: Patrice Piard, Shubert Denis, and Patrick Wah.
