Emmanuel Dostaly was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on March 25, 1947. He studied art at the Academie des Beaux-Arts and is known for his landscapes and daily life scenes. He co-authored the book Haitian Artists in America with three other Haitian artists: Patrice Piard, Shubert Denis, and Patrick Wah.
