Famous Saint Soleil Artist, Levoy Exil was born in 1944 in Soisson-la-Montagne. He is one of the main contributors to the Saint Soleil art movement. His paintings are mystical and abstract and often depict Haitian Voodoo Loas, suns, stars, birds, and madrassas. Levoy style is primitive/naive and dreamlike. He employs the Pointillism technique, which involves applying small, distinct dots in a pattern to reveal an image influenced by African, Haitian, and Vodou traditions. He has exhibited internationally and is well appreciated by art collectors internationally, mainly in Europe. " Sinuous lines create an effect of dancing figures on Levoy's canvasses."
