Famous Saint Soleil Artist, Levoy Exil was born in 1944 in Soisson-la-Montagne. He is one of the main contributors to the Saint Soleil art movement. His paintings are mystical and abstract and often depict Haitian Voodoo Loas, suns and stars, birds, and marassas. Levoy style is primitive/naive and dreamlike. He uses the Pointillism technique of applying small, distinct dots in a pattern to reveal an image drawn from African, Haitian and Vodou influences.
