André Normil was born on September 26, 1934 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and passed away on May 2, 2014.Normil joined the Art Center in 1951. He is a humorist with a subtle eye for depicting themes of Voodoo and holiday celebrations and is famous for his paradise scenes, his Noah’s arks and depictions of the carnival.In 1969, he exhibited in England, in 1970 in Germany and Italy, in 1971 in France.The Issa Gallery in Haiti is one of the principal exhibitors of his work.
