Lamarre Sanon, the younger brother of Roosevelt Sanon, was born on August 2, 1954, in Jacmel. He began his artistic journey in 1973 after attending Moya College in Jacmel, where Marcsene Montprimier mentored him. Embracing the primitive style, Sanon has developed a distinctive palette, favoring vibrant shades of red, yellow, and green. His work is characterized by surreal landscape scenes that vividly represent Haiti's essence. (Bio source: Haiti Voodoo Kingdom Riviera by John Allen Franciscus, 1980)
