Following the birth of her son, Caroline Shotton left her commercial artist career behind. Her newfound freedom has seen her incorporate different aspects from past commissions within her own unique creations. History and Background Caroline has been painting for as long as she can remember. Raised on the outskirts of London, she was inspired by the open countryside and nearby art galleries. As an only child, she immersed herself in her work, encouraged by the beloved grandmother who raised her. Ideas and Inspirations Throughout her school years, Caroline strived for perfection and was fascinated by the realism of the Old Masters. While studying at Central Saint Martins, her eyes were opened to surrealism and impressionism. Much of her work now combines elements from these two movements.
