“I create the atmosphere of a painting first, then gently bring something into focus. Color is my favorite tool for creating emotion and depth.” Becky has been an active Kansas City artist for thirty years. She has sold more than 1000 pieces to residential and commercial clients all over the United States, and paints with the community through her business, ARTichokes. Being a self-taught artist, she created her own technique using large knives and brushes. Her atmospheric landscapes are emotional and timeless. Her love for color, both bold and subtle, is expressed on every canvas. Nurturing creativity in people of all ages is something Becky is passionate about. She has taught creative art camps to many children, and continues to teach adults through corporate team-building events and private parties. In addition to painting, Becky has written many stories for children and currently has two book apps on the market under her second company, Rain Boot Media. Becky met her husband, Scott Pashia, at Kansas State University where she earned her degree in Interior Design, while he earned a degree in Architecture. However, she quickly found that her niche was to create custom paintings for interior spaces and started her own art business at age twenty-one. Becky painted her first painting of an artichoke at age 15, won the school district Purchase Award, and has been painting ever since. Scott and Becky have three sons, who are all bright musicians and continue to inspire her every single day. Becky was selected to be an artist in the Celebration of Fine Art Show in Scottsdale, Arizona January – March 2018.
