Born in Haiti in 1942, Raymonde began doodling and sketching at a tender age. For practical reasons, she chose to become a pharmacist as a career. After graduating from pharmacy school, she continued her artistic education on a part time basis, taking evening classes and participating to art shows in New Jersey. Many opportunities came her way as she studied different techniques with well-known artists. She was a member of “Exhibitor’s Coop”, a group of artists displaying their work in the Library and Public Places in New Jersey. She won the second prize winner at the “South Orange art show” and worked privately on commissions doing children portraits.Moving to Florida in the tropical setting of her dreams, she joined the “Andros Isles art group” in the community where she lived in south Florida and became a member of the” Wellington Art Society”. Her art work was chosen and displayed at the Palm Beach International Airport. She also exhibited and sold her work at the “Unique Art Gallery “ in Jupiter, a cooperative for local artists. Many of her paintings have been sold in USA, Canada, Mexico, and Haiti. Raymonde studied the technique of “Decorative Paintings”, practicing her craft on paper, Fabric, glass, and leather. This knowledge gives her the possibility to be a home decorator. Today, her involvement with the” Wellington Art Society” is to grow and serve her community while expressing her skills doing portraits, florals, figurines or landscapes. Versatile, prolific and in love with strong lights and shadows, Raymonde is happy to be a full-time artist. Realism and creative expression characterize her art.
