Laurie studied painting, photography, and art history in the United States, Italy, and France. Her ongoing body of work is produced through extensive international travel. For the past decade, she has focused on photographing grand public places and the people in them. Her large scale photographs involve the manipulation of color and shapes found within real world settings. The viewer’s eye is drawn into each detail of her work and explores the myriad of possible realities within her compositions. Some details are sharp while others are a blur of color and light, shape and form. Her gifted eye and skill combine to create images that are both vibrant and captivating.
