Jerre is a professional maker working primarily in kiln-formed glass for over 15 years. As a child growing up in Edinburgh, Scotland, Jerre attended the Scottish Ballet School from the age of 3 to 18. Her life was full of music and dance and this has become an integral part of her life. She sees movement and rhythm in lines and shapes, in the rural and urban landscape. Any kind of music or rhythmic noise is felt as an emotional response. She also studied movement of the human body in her profession as a physical therapist, a career she practiced for more than 20 years. Her work has always been informed by her affinity to movement and rhythm and explores these factors as patterns within abstract sculptural glass work. She has travelled to centers of excellence in glass education including Pilchuck Glass School, WA; North Lands Creative Glass Centre, Caithness Scotland and The Studio in Corning, NY to pursue her eduction. Jerre’s work has been exhibited in Korea, Scotland, USA and Canada. Her work is in private collections in Canada and the USA. In particular, she is honored to have work in the private collection of JG Harrington and Jere Gibber who are prominent collectors of sculptural glass art from the Washington DC area and are members of the Renwick Art Alliance
