Artist's StatementI was born and raised in Santa Monica California in the early 90s spending most of my time at the beach or on my skateboard. While design was not in the forefront of my mind back then, I did cover almost every drawable surface with the same drawing of a beach, a wave, a palm tree and two flying birds. School books, envelopes, cocktail napkins, you name it, my beach was on it. People would know where I had been due to the trail of drawings I left behind. There's no denying my upbringing influences my work. Palm trees and the beach are home for me and my designs. When I have a blank canvas in front of me with no direction in mind, I find myself sketching a beach with a tree. Often that sparks something. When I'm finished, the design might contain something entirely different with no resemblance to what I started with. That's the fun in it. My designs are printed on Giclee Entrada Fine Art Paper. The award-winning 100% cotton smooth paper complements the sharp lines and pastel colors of my designs. Entrada is an archival acid, and lignin-free paper with an expanded color gamut, natural contract and high ink load. Combined with archival inks, the print will last for generations. The paper is a heavyweight (290 gram) paper that is the ultimate fine art reproduction paper quality.
