Dreyfuss has been fabricating steel sculptures for nearly two decades, ranging from 12 inches to 10 feet in height. His works are welded together using Oxy-Acetylene and plasma torches, as well as MIG welders. The 44,000 degree tip of the plasma torch allows him to apply sharp, precise cuts, and right-angle shoulders without melting the surrounding steel. “It is sometimes difficult to stay away from representation and ‘abstracting’ reality, but success is bringing new concepts to a 3-dimensional control of space, using the traditional building blocks of line, shape, density, form, and balance.” Instead of answering questions, Dreyfuss likes to pose them, allowing the viewer to bring their own interpretation into the process and seeing the work through one's own lens.Peter Dreyfuss has exhibited his work in a number of solo and group shows thought out the Bay Area and is a number of private collections in California, New York, and Paris.
